Liverpool wedding photographer - an alternative, 80’s inspired Liverpool wedding
Liverpool wedding photographer - an alternative, 80’s inspired Liverpool wedding
Hey world! Today’s blog is a good’en, so get excited! I’m going to be sharing one of my favourite shoots yet, Pretty in Pink! This alternative Liverpool wedding was inspired by an 80’s iconic film, of course being Pretty in Pink. Having family in the Wirral, I am super lucky to be able to be a Liverpool wedding photographer as well! I knew Liverpool was the city we had to use for the shoot!
Let’s start off this Liverpool wedding at a beautiful Port Sunlight Airbnb
Liverpool has so many beautiful surrounding areas. We chose to use a beautiful Airbnb in Port Sunlight for the couple to get ready in. Port Sunlight is a postcard village in the Wirral. It is such a beautiful village for a relaxed get away and this Airbnb is perfect. The Airbnb we stayed in on Park Road is metres away from he train station, which is perfect for those planning or attending a Liverpool wedding. This little Liverpool wedding photographer highly recommends this airbnb and location!
An alternative pink Liverpool wedding styling
This alternative Liverpool wedding shoot was inspired but certain outfits worn in the film Pretty in Pink. Becky, the owner of R&R Wedding and Events Styling did an amazing job creating a beautiful and fun styling for this Liverpool wedding shoot. We wanted to use pink, but in a bold and fun way instead of the usual feminine elegance style. Sarah from Olive Owl Flowers created the most beautiful flowers that really brought the table to life! The accents of black really help keep this styling alternative and contemporary.
Going to Liverpool & we’re… gonna get married!
City weddings are gorgeous for capturing the story of your day. Being able to walk from one place to another really does create almost a movie story board of your day and I am here for it! I love the idea of ditching the wedding car and jumping on the train. We captured some awesome, fun shots of this couple on the way to Liverpool and it only took 15 minutes!
Need to find somewhere for the legal part of your Liverpool wedding? St George’s hall has you covered!
When I think of a registry wedding, I can’t help but automatically think of some lifeless 60’s building with dated decor. I know what you’re thinking, gross. Well when you have your Liverpool wedding, you get to have your registry ceremony at the iconic St Georges Hall! How friggin’ cool is that! St George’s Hall is such a beautiful building, your photos will look amazing! This building has to be one of my absolute favourites in Liverpool! We used St Georges hall for our travelling styling set up and confetti photos and it looked epic!
81 Renshaw the best record shop in Liverpool!
The whole idea of this shoot came from one iconic scene in Pretty in Pink. Ducky is dancing in the record shop lip syncing to Otis Redding. I wanted to capture a scene of the couple in a Liverpool record shop and 81 Renshaw was the perfect place. Having a theme or idea for your wedding doesn’t mean you have to reenact or copy the idea exact, having a subtle nod to it captures your vibe. As a Liverpool wedding photographer, I love capturing new and exciting ideas for couples in Liverpool.
Couple photos at The Bombed Out Church
Over the road from 81 Renshaw is the beautiful bombed Out Church. Such an iconic building in the city that hosts events and weddings! If you’re planning to have your wedding in Liverpool, this is definitely a space you should check out. Whether you hire the space or pop in for couple photos like we did, you won’t regret it!
Oh I do bloody love a Liverpool wedding!
Liverpool is one of those cities it’s impossible not to love. The people, the architecture, the vibe… it’s such a cool city.
