My first blog of 2022 and it’s going to be an absolute corker!

On Saturday Amy & Rob had the most relaxed wedding at The Old Library Digbeth. Amy & Rob are the most chilled and ‘up for a laugh’ couple you’ll ever meet. Just my kinda couple. I knew their wedding day was going to be cool AF, especially as Amy is a fellow raver and has an awesome taste in music. I love having a bond with my couples and what better way can you bond with others than over music!

You can always rely on dad to dress you!

Amy and Rob got ready separately. When it comes to traditions, this is one that I do like. I love seeing that excitement from my couples when they first see each other at the aisle. It’s so bloody sweet that I now cry at this!

Rob was only a few minutes away from Amy the morning of their wedding which was perfect for me to drop in and grab a few photos of him getting ready. The vibe in Rob’s parents house was so relaxed, Mom was making sure everyone was well looked after! Dad of course had to step in and make sure his son was properly dressed for when he says I Do at The Old Library Digbeth.

Precious moments before you say I DO!

As I arrived to Amy I could hear her dance tunes pumping away! I expected nothing less. Amy had her bridesmaids with her, keeping her calm and planning future raves they’ll be dragging the new Mrs to. After booking me, Amy asked for recommendations for a hairstylist and MUA. Having photographed many weddings I have come across some amazing wedding suppliers and was so happy that she’d booked Ellis & Harper for her wedding day.

As the bridesmaids were getting their hair and makeup I decided to capture some gorgeous moments of Amy and her beautiful daughter Millie! These pair have such a gorgeous bond that was so easy to capture. Not going to lie, I may have cried seeing this photo again!

The final moments before saying I do at The Old Library Digebth

Amy’s nerves had turned to excitement by the time her bridesmaid and maid of honour were tasked on helping her get into her gorgeous wedding dress. I always get a picture of what I imagine my brides wedding dress looks like and 80% of the time I am totally surprised! Amy chose a beautiful Wed2B dress which had beautiful lace detail on the top flowing down to a layered tule skirt. Amy looked sensational! I was so excited to see her walk down the aisle at The Old Library Digbeth.

When they said I DO at The Old Library Digbeth

Amy & Rob had a short and sweet wedding ceremony at The Old Library Digbeth. Millie lead the girls down the aisle and Amy walked down the aisle in her father’s arm. The ceremony was filled with laughter (mainly at Rob taking his time saying I DO) and beautiful speeches from Rob’s dad and friend of the couple. I love seeing couples personalise their I Do’s and inviting their faves to come and be part of it!

You all know confetti is one of my FAVE parts of your wedding day! Amy & Rob and all their guests didn’t disappoint this confetti lover! The Old Library Digbeth has a fab space out the front perfect for your confetti photos. No tradition line of you walking through, at The Old Library we can get you right amongst your guests as they launch the confetti at you from all angles! How f*cking awesome does this look?!?

Oh Digbeth I bloody love ya!

Amy and Rob were spoilt for choice on amazing spots to use for their couple portraits. Getting married at The Old Library Digbeth means you’re slap bang in the middle of all the graffiti, the festoon lit streets and pure industrial heaven! Amy and Rob had 2 requests for their photos. They wanted a group phot with smoke grenade… NAILED IT! Then they wanted to capture the graffiti streets and arches… BLOODY NAILED IT AGAIN! Even the wind and rain didn’t stop these pair absolutely rocking their portraits!

Speeches to make you laugh & cry at The Old Library Digbeth

Amy and Rob wanted to keep the tradition of speeches for their relaxed wedding at The Old Library Digbeth. This is a tradition I love! I love hearing more about your story; Hearing the embarrassing stories your friends and family have on you and seeing the love everyone has for you! Rob; His brother and best friend all gave speeches and boy were they a rollercoaster of emotions. I cried, Amy and Rob cried… The whole room had tears in their eyes! I love capturing this raw emotion of your wedding day!

No boring group photos with Steph!

The festoon lit street outside The Old Library Digbeth is the perfect location for photos. This gorgeous lighting of Custard Factory means we don’t have to rush your photos during the day! With the mixed weather, we decided to do some group photos later in the day, once everyone had relaxed after a few bevvies! It’s funny the attention you get from folks who have also had a few bevvies!

It’s time to party the night away at The Old Library Digbeth

With Amy being a fellow raver (I’m semi retired nowadays haha) I knew the music was such an important part of their day. They chose an awesome band called The Hustle who played a mix of track that all would love! Amy and Rob didn't;t have a first dance, instead they wanted to share their dance with all their guests! I bloody loved this! This was so them and I applaud couples breaking traditions to have their wedding their way!

Amy and Rob had the most amazing wedding day. They did things their way and had the best day! The Old Library Digbeth is such a cool and relaxed wedding venue in Birmingham. This venue allows you to create the wedding you want and has such a supportive team to assist you on your day. With a cool space called Nomad in the Zellig building, you get to have drinks and chat with all your guests as The Old Library Digbeth changes the room around for you. No waiting outside in the freezing cold! YAY!

Amy and Rob stayed true to themselves. They got rid of traditions that meant nothing to them. They ditched a formal meal for a yummy Beige Buffet (we all love the beige). They created the perfect party vibe to dance the night away with their faves! They were just awesome and I cannot wait to finish this gallery! Congrats Amy & Rob, you two rocked!!!
